    Laura

    Clinical Director / Veterinary Surgeon

    Laura joined Ashlea in 2010 after qualifying as a veterinary surgeon in 2006, during which time she has developed a special interest in orthopaedics.

    She has a cat called Chloe and two children, and enjoys family time, especially baking and crafts.

     

     

     

  • Kirsty

    Kirsty

    Senior Veterinary Surgeon

    Kirsty established Ashlea with husband Chris in 1994, and has been caring for the pets of Carlisle ever since. She has special interests in dentistry and old cats.

    She has two dogs and a cat called Murphy. She likes spending time in the Lake District and when not working can often be found out running with Saffy the English setter.

    Rowena

    Practice Manager

    Rowena joined Ashlea in 2002 as a registered veterinary nurse, after qualifying from Myerscough College in 1999, and became our practice manager in 2019.

    She has two children, who are joined in the family by Labrador Hunter, springer spaniel Benny and cat Wispa. She enjoys swimming and going to the gym, and loves to get away to the Scottish coast, where she owns a caravan.

    Senior Veterinary Surgeon

    Chris has been at Ashlea with wife Kirsty since day one, and has worked as a veterinary surgeon for 40 years.

    He has a certificate in radiography and also enjoys orthopaedics. He has an English setter called Saffy and likes to spend his time outside of work on various hobbies including cycling, planning holidays and DIY.

    Kathryne

    Veterinary Surgeon

    Kathryne has been with the Ashlea team since 2013, after qualifying as a veterinary surgeon in 2004.

    She has a particular interest in rabbits and small furries – a passion that has seen her bring two bunnies into her own home, Evie and Percy. When she isn’t playing with them she likes to keep fit by swimming and cycling.

     

     

     

  • Morag

    Morag

    Veterinary Surgeon

    Morag is an experienced vet who has been practicing since 1982, and joined the Ashlea team in 2009. She is particularly interested in acupuncture and surgery.

    She has two Hungarian vizslas, Lily and Zinnia, as well as Rooster and Scoot the cats. At home she can usually be found in the garden, pottering in the borders.

    Senior Registered Veterinary Nurse

    Katy is a registered veterinary nurse here at Ashlea and joined the team in 2002. She has two Labradors, Lily and Izzy, as well as two mischievous and energetic primary-aged boys. She likes spending time outside, and loves to get out walking the dogs.

    Marie

    Senior Registered Veterinary Nurse

    Marie qualified as a registered veterinary nurse from Myerscough College in 2008, and joined the Ashlea team 2015. She has a special interest in dentistry and has been awarded a certificate in oral care. Out of work she enjoys going for walks with dog companion Bruce, as well as swimming and DIY.

    Rebecca

    Registered Veterinary Nurse

    Rebecca joined Ashlea after qualifying as a registered veterinary nurse from Edinburgh Telford College in 2015. She is particularly interested in canine behaviour – she runs our puppy classes – and in rabbits, of which she has two at home, Shade and Junior. At home she has the twin, but conflicting, hobbies of keeping fit and baking.

    Registered Veterinary Nurse

    Amy Moved to Cumbria from London in 2020. She qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2019 from College of Animal Welfare. Amy has an interest in In-patient care. Amy has a Jack Russell called Crash who can be seen helping out in reception on occasions.

    Emma qualified from Harper Adams University in July 2023, she competed her training alongside Ashlea vets and joined the team properly in August 2023. Emma has an interest in in-patient care and outside of work enjoys walking and reading

    Sarah Joined the Team in June 2023 to start her journey to becoming a registered Veterinary Nurse. Outside of work Sarah enjoys spending time walking her dog, Millie, swimming and riding horses

    Kennel Assistant

    Cheri joined the Ashlea team in May 2021. In her spare time she enjoys going out for rides in the countryside with my horse Honey and walking my dog Nellie who is a cockerpoo.

    Lyndsay

    Client Care Coordinator

    Lyndsay is Ashlea’s client care coordinator, and has been a member of our team since 2017. She loves looking after our patients and making sure our clients and their pets are content. She has a ginger cat called Charlie and enjoys spending time with him and the rest of the family, as well as swimming and baking.

     

     

     

     

     

  • Tracey Joined us in January 2024  Tracey enjoys travelling and visiting new places, she has a caravan so spends most of summer weekends touring the UK.  Tracey also enjoys cooking and entertaining for family and friends.

    Lucie has been with the Ashlea team as a receptionist since 2019. She has a whole menagerie at home to keep her busy, including three rabbits, three cats, a bird and a tortoise!
